About Us
Himalayan Media Welfare Society is a small community based grassroots,non government and non profit voluntary organisation,working for the underprivileged society in India. Through the hard work and commitment of our volunteers we can continue to provide a better life for those most needy people within our district.
About the program
This Himalayan Media Welfare Society Day Care Center aims to help the poor in inaccessible areas. We provide free tutorial classes and other scholastic needs like books, pens, storytelling services,clothes, choreography training, artistic competitions, refreshment etc to the Children who are underprivileged,abandon,poor and whose family members are working as laborers. We celebrate their birthdays and give them small gifts. We also help them with any sicknesses and ensure they are healthy. We are trying to bring education to children from extremely poor families and allow them a happy start in life.Children will not get personal tutor to improve more in educational/physical/psychological field.Volunteers may help their home work and even help them to understand lesson more clearly i.e. teaching them about health and hygiene (sanitation)

Journée Typique
A typical day at the Himalayan Media Welfare Society includes typical tasks:
- Helping children doing their home work and help them to understand lesson more clearly i.e.teaching them about health and hygiene (Sanitation)
- Telling them about the different issues of life that may be troubling them.
- Providing moral teaching to live life with dignity.
- Teaching them to converse in English so they may be able to excel their study.
- Purchase clothes, school bags, and shoes for them
- Support them in singing,dancing,drawing,painting and playing.
- Help the community to aware about health and hygiene and environmental issues.

In their free time volunteers can visit the jungle and do activities like hiking, trekking or visiting monasteries, churches, the riverside, historical places, tea gardens, factories and much more

Conditions
Pour participer à ce programme tu dois avoir au moins 18 ans quand le programme commence. Il peut y avoir des exceptions si tu peux montrer la permission de ton tuteur légal ou si tu es accompagné(e) par l'un de tes parents.

Food & Drink (3 meals a day), Accommodation are included in the fees.
If you would like to be picked up and droped off at the airport and transported to the project site, there will be a little amount added to the program fees as this service is not included in the fees.

Home stay is near to the primary health center, the police station and market in case of emergency.Our rooms have electricity, fans, mosquito net, iron, running water, and Indian & Western toilet/bathroom.

L'aéroport le plus proche est Bagdogra Airport (IXB) à Bagdogra. Nous t'aidons à trouver des vols pas chers pour aller en Inde.
Partir à l'étranger est une aventure et c'est toujours mieux d'être bien préparé. Que ce soit une maladie soudaine, une blessure ou du vol - une assurance voyage pour Inde te protège en cas de situation imprévue.
Si tu envisages de faire du bénévolat en Inde, nous te conseillons de consulter un médecin avant le début de ton voyage. Renseigne-toi sur les vaccins nécessaires pour Inde.
