Gegevens over jouw aankomst
Engage Conservation Africa welcomes volunteers throughout the year, subject to availability and the scheduling of our research projects. However, we do not operate throughout December.
Arrival day: Monday
We ask volunteers to arrange their travel so that they arrive at Polokwane International Airport (PTG) on a Monday morning, before 11:00 am. Our team will collect you directly from the airport and transport you to the project location.
When booking your flight, please allow enough time to clear immigration, collect your luggage and reach the airport collection point before 11:00 am.
Departure day: Monday
We ask volunteers to arrange their return journey for a Monday. Volunteers should aim to be at Polokwane International Airport in time to catch the 10:45 am departure flight.
Because the project is located in a remote area, Monday transfers are organised around these flight times. If you are unable to meet the recommended arrival or departure times, please contact us before booking your flights so we can discuss whether alternative arrangements are possible.
Once you arrive, you will be welcomed by the Engage Conservation team and introduced to the project, your fellow volunteers and the field environment. You will receive an orientation covering the programme, daily routines, equipment and essential wildlife and bush safety procedures before beginning your conservation activities.
The specific research activities available during your stay may vary depending on wildlife activity, seasonal conditions and our current research priorities. This means that every group contributes to the projects that are most relevant at the time of their visit.
Important: Please confirm your programme dates with us before booking flights. We recommend booking your arrival and departure flights around the Monday collection and return schedule to ensure a smooth transfer to and from the project.
