    Film & Photography Intern — Live Productions | Tanzania (On-site, Erasmus+)

    Type: Internship / creative placement

    Location: On set, on location, and in the edit suite around Dar es Salaam and across Tanzania

    Duration: Flexible, year-round · 6–8 hrs/day, Monday–Friday

    Ideal for: film, media production, photography, communications, creative arts

    Skills: scriptwriting, directing, cinematography, editing, lighting, sound

    About the role

    Join an award-winning program and work on set, behind the camera and in the edit suite — on active local TV productions, international documentaries and music videos. This is real production work, not observation.

    What you'll do

    • Creative & production: scriptwriting, directing and cinematography
    • Technical crew: lighting, sound, editing and photography
    • Provide on-set support: makeup, styling and crew roles
    • Create digital and social-media content (50,000+ followers)
    • Train the local team — capacity that outlasts your placement

    Editing is more like scheduled work; one can enjoy regular working hours.

    Overall, this work has no time limitations, but the team is very flexible, and you can always find a compromise.

You can join our groups climbing Mt Kilimanjaro and move on to relax at Zanzibar beaches. We also offer a variety of one-day programs for short breaks, such as diving and snorkeling at the reefs, swimming with dolphins, rainforest trekking in Kilimanjaro, live African music, various sports programs, and craft-making, including batik-making courses, and so on. You will enjoy your stay in Tanzania.

    The fee includes accommodation, breakfast, and dinner; program guidance with orientation and 24-hour staff presence; and academic graduate team leaders for all programs.

    The actual program is free of charge. You may have small local transfer costs.

    The cost does not include international flights, local transfers, charity volunteer visas, or personal purchases.

    Unterkunft

    Our eco-compound in Madale Village in the Dar es Salaam area has dorms, single, double, and family rooms. As an eco-compound, we use flush toilets with bio-grade septic tanks; we collect shower water and use it as "grey water" for our tropical garden irrigation. This compound is in Madale village, so it is in the countryside but a short distance from the city.

    We charge for accommodation with breakfast and dinner only. 

    Verpflegung

    We include breakfast and dinner in the lodging cost at our compound. Lunches are not included because most participants are out of the compound during the day. Local places to eat are around your placement and affordable.

    All drinks are at your own cost. Drinking water is available everywhere at a low price. We also run a compound bar, so you can easily access drinks and snacks
