Despite primary school being free in Bali, and the children having a thirst for education, many families struggle with providing the children with adequate learning supplies in Primary School with the additional financial burden of fees in High School. Most parents are farmers and struggle to make a sustainable living past that which they have been born into. By aiding local teachers to provide engaging classes and contributing to local schools giving children a step up educationally, volunteers provide the tools and building blocks for an empowered learning experience.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to teach at various local schools for approx 3-4 hours each day. These schools   Volunteers can teach a variety of English Based subjects, games, songs, art, sport, music etc. in learning through fun. Depending on experience or qualifications, some volunteers will be able to teach whole classes on their own or with other Volunteers.

There are three locations volunteers can choose to contribute to; Ubud, Lovina and Lombok. These 3 areas of Indonesia offer different experiences, particularly in regards to free time. However, in regards to the schools and children volunteers can expect to interact with, all are as appreciative and fun in the teaching experience.

We particularly welcome those for whom this is their first visit to Bali. We help with cultural awareness and immersion learning during your training, as well as assisting you to tour Bali through short activity breaks during your weekends and vacations.

Freizeitaktivitäten

Ubud

In your free time why not check out the famous Ubud Monkey Forest Sanctuary or Tegallalang Rice Terraces? Be surrounded by vendors selling rattan bags, slogan singlets and souvenirs at Ubud markets. Ubud is well known for it's many health-orientated restaurants and yoga classes and many waterfalls and hikes to explore if you are after a relaxing way to spend your days.

Lovina

The town centre is smaller than Ubud and Lombok for more of a rural immersive experience. Spend time soaking up rays on the beach or trying your luck on a surfboard! Get involved with the local food and markets and explore the area.

Sengigi, Lombok

In Lombok, Sengigi is the traditional tourist area however tourism is nowhere close to what is seen in Bali.   In this regard you are way off the beaten path of tourism.  You’ll enjoy extensive bays with beautiful light sandy beaches and jungle mountains with palm trees.
Surfing and hiking are two of the main things to do in this area, as well as embracing the nightlife of the beach town. The island’s northern area is dominated by the remarkable bulk of Gunung Rinjani, and trekking at least part of the way up is the reason many travelers come to Lombok.
