    Art in Tanzania is a Tanzanian NGO that operates multiple community programs. We need to develop our media content, specifically the designs for our website and social media pages.

    Details

    We continually need to enhance our web and social media presence. Our Facebook pages have over 50,000 followers, providing a solid foundation to reach people in Tanzania. Therefore, social media planning and content creation go hand in hand with web page development.
    The tasks include filming and photographing, editing, and daily content production. You work with our Media Team, staff, and other participating students.

    BASICS:

    • All international flights include personal costs, accommodation, meals, drinks, and entry visas.
    • You do not need much money here for living costs. If you go on a safari, climb Mt. Kilimanjaro, or take similar trips, budget USD 500 to USD 1600, depending on the options you choose.
    • Safety: Tanzania is probably safer than your hometown.
    • Vaccinations: Only standard shots, such as tetanus, hepatitis, etc., that you keep valid in any case
    • Malaria: You can take preventive measures, but if you do get malaria, treatment is straightforward.
    • Medical services: Many clinics and hospitals have easy access, good medication standards, and nominal costs.
    • Please take standard travel insurance.
    • Working hours are 6-8 hours per day, Monday to Friday, and can be adjusted.

    Standard working hours are from 9 AM to 4:30 PM, but we may have seminars and meetings on evenings and weekends. The nature of the work is to follow the time when the target groups are free.

    Standard working hours are from 9 AM to 4:30 PM, but we may have seminars and meetings on evenings and weekends. The nature of the work is to follow the time when the target groups are free.

    The participant will develop human rights materials to study the present legislation and changes in the bill. Some rights issues, such as LGBT rights, are sensitive in Africa and must be addressed accordingly. 

    Much of the work involves advocating for the implementation of existing human rights laws. The general public does not necessarily know their rights, and we support vulnerable groups such as women, children, and disabled people. You will utilise existing toolkits for seminars, develop them further, and create new ones.

    Much time will be spent on visibility. For example, Facebook is an excellent tool for reaching Tanzanians. Art in Tanzania's Facebook page has 19k likes, and we can deliver information to tens of thousands of Tanzanians.

    The fee includes accommodation, breakfast, and dinner, program guidance with orientation and 24 hours of staff presence, and academic graduate team leaders for all programs.

    The actual program is free of cost. You may have local small transfer costs. 

    Unterkunft

    Our eco-compound in Madale Village in the Dar es Salaam area has dorms, single, double and family rooms. As an eco-compound, we use our flush toilets with biograde septic tanks; we collect shower water and use it as "grey water" for our tropical garden irrigation. This compound is located in Madale village, making it a rural area, yet it is only a short distance from the city.

    We charge for accommodation with breakfast and dinner only. 

    Verpflegung

    We serve breakfast and dinner as part of the lodging cost at our compound. Lunches are not included, as most of the participants are out of the compound during the daytime. Local eating places around your placement are available at a low cost.

    All drinks are at your own cost. Drinking water is available everywhere at a low price. We also run a compound bar, so you can easily access drinks and snacks.
