South Africa is the country with the third highest level of biodiversity worldwide. As a volunteer in South Africa you can help to spread
awareness about the importance of protecting its immense variety of wildlife, because it's shrinking fast. Some of the reasons for this are
the loss of habitat and illegal hunting. Although the ban on selling African ivory helps the
population, hippos are now being hunted
for their teeth. The African
population is also a target: they are not only being hunt for sport, but they are being poisoned as well.
Your help is also needed to promote the conservation of marine animals. This shows that by volunteering within a South African animal program,
you can help where it is really needed. Moreover, you'll learn a lot about the diverse wildlife that inhabits this region.
