Who we areVolunteering Solutions — VolSol for short — has been sending volunteers and interns overseas since 2007. More than 25,000 people have now travelled with us, across 24 countries in Asia, Africa, Latin America and Europe. We are a certified B Corporation, independently assessed against standards covering how we treat our participants, our partners and the communities our projects sit in.
What we do
We run affordable, structured placements in childcare and education, medical and healthcare electives, wildlife and marine conservation, sports coaching, women's empowerment and community development. Placements run from a single week to several months, and most have weekly start dates year-round, so you can build one around your term dates, notice period or travel plans.
How our projects are run
Every destination is run with in-country teams and local coordinators who live and work where the projects are. They handle your airport pickup, orientation, placement and day-to-day support, and are contactable 24/7 while you are in country. Projects are selected and reviewed together with those teams rather than booked at arm's length.
What your fee covers
Programme fees typically cover accommodation, meals where stated, airport pickup, orientation, in-country support and a contribution to the project itself. A one-off application fee is charged in addition to the programme fee. Flights, visas, insurance and vaccinations are not included, though we can arrange travel and medical insurance at extra cost if you would like us to.
Who it is for
Our volunteers are gap year travellers, university students, medical and nursing students seeking clinical exposure, and people taking a career break. We also run family placements alongside group and university trips. No previous experience is needed for the majority of our projects; where a qualification or minimum age applies, it is stated clearly on the programme page.
